programs, loan and grant application processes, housing codes and
enforcement procedures, bids and contracts, inspection of work and
payments to contractors, liabilities to subcontractors and non-performance by
contractors.
Displacement and Relocation
ACRHA’s Housing Counseling Program offers consumers assistance who
are displaced from their current residence or who are in need of relocation
due to activities by or on behalf of the federal government. The Housing
Counselor offers assistance with the rights of owners faced with
displacement, the rights and responsibilities of the entity causing the
displacement, relocation benefits and assistance with locating alternate
housing.
ACRHA is a HUD approved housing counseling agency.
Reverse Mortgage
ACRHA offers one-on-one counseling to senior households interested in HECM’s (Reverse Mortgages) and issues the required certificate for homeowners.
The certificate attests only to the fact that the consumer attended the required counseling session and does not recommend the consumer for a HECM.
The Home Ownership Advisor will educate the consumer about options other than HECM, other reverse mortgages, the financial implications of HECM’s, a disclosure of the tax implications, eligibility for assistance under Federal and State Programs, and the impact on the estate and heirs of the homeowner.
