6 . HOME BUYER EDUCATION CLASS FEE DISCLOSURE and POLICY: Thank you for requesting home buyer group education with Albany County Rural Housing Alliance, Inc. (ACRHA). ACRHA is a HUD approved, 501(C)3 nonprofit agency that provides counseling and group education classes to NYS residents on various housing issues. ACRHA charges $50 per household for group home buyer education and an additional $20 if purchasing a workbook. This is a non-refundable fee due ON or BEFORE the Monday prior to your Saturday class. If you are unable to attend your registered class, your fee will be applied toward the next class you are able to attend. Fees are collected in form of cash or certified check made payable to “ACRHA, Inc.” or online payment through our ACRHA store. Certificates are valid for one year. Once the certificate has lapsed you must attend the class again and pay the fee in order to obtain another certificate. Recognition of other certificates from different agencies for use in ACRHA grant programs is at the discretion of ACRHA. *

8. Optional Pre-purchase Counseling: ACRHA, Inc. is a HUD-approved housing counseling agency. We offer free pre-purchase counseling to anyone interested in learning more about becoming a successful homeowner [see note above]. The benefits of a private, one-on-one, pre-purchase counseling appointment include: learning how to improve or maintain your credit, fine-tuning your budget, estimating affordability, and learning about ACRHA's first-time homebuyer down-payment assistance grant opportunities. *
